Parking Please Park in South Parking Lot! Calvary Church is very busy on Thursday nights. We have wedding rehearsals, CBS meetings, dinners in the atrium, choir and worship rehearsals. It is important that parents park in the south parking lot by the gym and escort your children in the gym door. Scout families should not be in the hallway next to the chapel. Also, the playground is not open for Cub Scouts on Thursday nights. Please abide by these rules so that we can be good neighbors with the other Thursday Night ministries. Youth Safety Rules
Please discuss these rules with your children and lead by example! Inclement Weather Policy In case of severe weather (ice, heavy snow) a decision will be made in the afternoon as to whether to cancel meetings. This information will be passed on to the den leaders who will then call their den. We will also post it in the website announcements. Typically, if Francis Howell and Fort Zumwalt schools are closed we will not meet unless roads improve significantly by the end of the day. Tornado Safety Do You Know What To Do? At Calvary Church, all Scouts go to room 108! Leave auditoriums, gyms, and other free-span rooms, exiting in an orderly fashion. Go to interior rooms and halls on the lowest floor, but avoid halls that open to the outside in any direction. If there are no interior hallways, avoid those that open to the southwest, south, or west, since that is the usually the direction the tornado will come. Stay away from glass, both in windows and doors. Crouch down, and make as small a "target" as possible. If you have something to cover your head, do so, otherwise, use your hands. Don't assume that there will always be a leader or other adult there to tell you what to do. If there is, you should follow their direction, but you need to know these things too. Helping Hand Parents are needed to help in our workroom on den meeting nights. Help is especially needed on the 2nd den meeting night to collate the newsletter and prepare awards for the pack meeting. Each den needs to provide one parent to help prepare awards for their den. Other jobs are cutting out crafts, rolling flatware for banquets, making vests in January, preparing decorations for Blue and Gold and preparing name tags for big events. Please stop by the workroom, and lend a helping hand. Suggestions The committee and leaders meet monthly to help direct the activities of the entire group. Parents, whether registered leaders or not, are welcome at the committee meeting. If you have ideas to share, let us know! Come and add your voice and help keep things moving ahead. Check the calendar for the meeting time and location each month. |
